B737s AT HEATHROW AND GATWICK

HELIOS AIRWAYS.....
The airline was established as "Helios Airways" on 23 September 1998 and was the first independent privately owned airline in Cyprus. On 15 May 2000, it operated its first charter flight to London Gatwick.
On 14 March 2006 it was announced that Helios Airways would be rebranded as ájet. All ájet flights were suspended from 1 November 2006 and the majority of its schedules were taken over by XL Airways.

PULKOVO AIRLINES.......
The airline was named after the area where it is located, along with the village of Pulkovo and Pulkovo Observatory. The airline began on 24 June 1932 with the landing of two aircraft from Moscow at the newly-constructed Shosseynaya Airport south of Leningrad. In 2006, Pulkovo completed its merger with Rossiya. They now operate as one company.

GO......
British Airways established the successful, but highly subsidised, Go in 1998. Go was a low-cost carrier intended to compete in the rapidly emerging "no-frills" segment. After four years of successful operations, the airline was sold off to venture capitalists 3i and later merged with EasyJet.

CHANNEL EXPRESS......
The airline was established in January 1978 based in Bournemouth, United Kingdom. In 2002 Channel Express established its low cost brand Jet2.com, whose name it took in January 2006.

UTOPIA/WORLD ART......
In 1997 British Airways adopted a new livery. One part of this was a newly stylised version of the British Airways "Speedbird" logo, but the major change was the introduction of tail-fin art. Also known as the Utopia or world art tailfins, they used art and designs from international artists and other sources to represent countries on BA's route network. Each aircraft carried the name of that country on the rear of the fuselage.
In May 2001 the new Chief Executive, Rod Eddington, announced the entire fleet would receive the new Union flag livery.

EXCEL/XL AIRWAYS.....
The airline was established in 1994 as Sabre Airways and started operations on 17 December 1994. The XL.com website and aircraft branding was adopted by the Excel Airways Group in November 2006 as part of a major brand relaunch. XL Airways was a British low-cost charter and scheduled airline, which ceased operations when it went into administration on 12 September 2008.

BRAATHENS SAFE......
The airline was founded on March 26, 1946 by Norwegian shipping line proprietor Ludvig G. Braathen with the intention of serving his ships in other parts of the world. Braathens airline, until 1997 known as Braathens S.A.F.E. or Braathens South American and Far East Air Transport A/S, merged with the Norwegian part of Scandinavian Airlines to become SAS Braathens in 2004. In April 2007 SAS announced that it intended to fully absorb Braathens into its mainline Norwegian operation, as a result of which the Braathens name was to disappear for good.

SNOWFLAKE.....
Snowflake was a low-cost airline subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines System, operating on the concept of low fares in return for a basic product (similar to Ryanair or easyJet). Snowflake only operated from Denmark and Sweden and ceased separate operations in 2004.

MAERSK AIR.....
Maersk Air was a Danish low-fare airline, based in Copenhagen, which was part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. It operated from 1969 to 2005, when it was bought by Icelandic investment group Fons Eignarhaldsfélag and subsequently merged with their other Danish acquisition the same year, Sterling European Airlines. The new company changed name to Sterling Airlines.

STERLING AIRLINES.....
Sterling Airlines A/S was an Icelandic-owned low-fare airline, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was created in September 2005 through the merger of two Danish airlines - Sterling European Airlines A/S and Maersk Air A/S - which had been bought by Icelandic investment group Fons Eignarhaldsfélag a few months before. On 29 October 2008 Sterling filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations.
