VARIG....
VARIG was the first airline in Brazil, established on May 7, 1927 at the Porto Alegre Commercial Association meeting. In 2005, the airline went into judicial reorganization (similar to bankruptcy protection). A new company emerged and was named as VRG Linhas Aéreas in October 2006, but continued to operate under the VARIG brand.
